A Shaker solution, a Shaker broom. You know that if my father, a very precise character (who do you think I got this pickiness from?) could be into this broom you will be too. As he put it, “It’s hard to find a good broom these days!” and after awhile gazed at it while saying, “Wow, that’s a nice broom.” Ok, it is a good broom, those nylon ones after all are crap and die within two months of regular use (bad for the environment, etc.). This one is handmade in Kentucky. I read on “Apartment Therapy” that an establishment in New York City was selling a Shaker broom similar to this for $450, unreasonable but that is what ground floor, Tribeca spaces will do to your prices, gotta get those margins! The maker started producing them when he stumbled across some broom making equipment and became fascinated. Every broom is made by hand and has a natural handle. Oh, and we gave our first sample to my father, he is still happily using it, but only carefully!
