The Kyoto shop that produces these cards first opened in 1663. The founder was an herbalist and over time, in addition to medicines, the store began to produce incense and other fragrant goods since the ingredients were the same. Then, being that all of their ingredients at the time were imported from China, they began to import Chinese paintings and calligraphy in the 1970’s. Soon, they started to make their own graphics and patterns as well. Since the 1860’s the company has produced goods for the Imperial family. Their products are very respected and admired in Japan. This is an ongoing product, we will change our selection with the seasons.
