Hasami

This teapot is for the type of green tea called sencha but being we drink all sorts of teas we use it for any type of tea. Made by a company established in 1951, they are located in Hasami in the Nagasaki region. Hasami is in the second largest area for ceramic production in Japan, an area that has been famous for its pottery for 400 years. The companies priorities are the following: firstly, that the piece is functional, secondly, that the design feels good to the touch and thirdly, that it is long lasting both in a practical and an aesthetic way. The teapot was designed in the early 70s and received the good design award in Japan in 1978. It feels good when you use it, makes enough for two medium sized cups of tea and makes the start of our day all the better.
