Le désir de se regarder réprimé par la crainte d’être vu 2021 Carte postale (250 exemplaires)
Alexandre works in minute minutes.
He shows a split second glance, a loss of control, a break in fluidity, a trip, a confusion, these things that are odd and off-putting, unknown but common habits that link all of humanity, the "blank" moments of life.
In his world the day-to-day is fractured and life stops, frozen in its path. Often he works in the place where the public and private meet, places we might rather ignore. Time is broken down to expose the meaningless and the facades so that all moments become more meaningful and real.
He wants us to see those blank moments of life, so we can use them; grab them, that is his goal. To step out of oneself so one can see oneself. Nobody ever said it was easy.
It is a thing to live, it is another to document. Alexandre describes himself as a spectator of himself. He dissects the everyday and in turn he documents the essence of life.
