Edlef ter Haar Romeny 2

Born in 1926 in the Netherlands, died in 2017 in the Luberon, France.

Edlef was a dedicated artist, he lived in his work as much as his work was in him. He was from another time and place, and he truly experienced life. Hobo, rambler, explorer, artist to the extreme, he was a Dutchman who spoke 5 different languages, traveled the world, lived in several countries, had 6 children and painted every day, no matter where or what the circumstances. He was incredibly social, an excellent storyteller and, conversely, a horrible listener, but so incredibly charming that to most people, it never mattered. More than anyone else, Edlef showed one how to live, enjoy and believe in what your desires are, with no remorse or second-guessing as to why.

Working as an engraver and painter primarily, he is known for his abstracts, and it is within them the work vibrates and glows. The colors change based on the mood, the year, the season. The energy is pronounced.

Edlef passed away in 2017 in the Luberon. Until the end he created a visual impulse every day on paper, with a brush or a pen, in his thoughts, his words and his mind. He was an artist to the extreme.
