I had never seen anything like the chain installed on our front door in London. Distinctly Houdini like and similar to a mind-bending metal puzzle where the goal is to manipulate one piece off the other, a game with security. The only goal here however is straight-up, a strong chain not imbued with magic. Far superior to the door chains found in America, it consists of a loop chain split in the middle by a flat piece of metal, two rings and two anchors. The flat piece of metal slides into the side attached to the door frame. You have to see it to believe it. It's good to be amused by even the simplest of things. If a door chain can make you laugh, imagine the rest of your day.
