I find cutting bread on a ridgeless board to be jarring. Like eating off a rock with a metal spoon or cutting a board of plywood with a jigsaw on a metal counter. You just know it is going to end badly. To cut bread fairly, evenly, without fear or suffering, you need grooves, grooves that also act as a crumb catch. Think back to your last delicious loaf with a thick crust on it and remember how the crumbs could fly while you sawed away? No more crumby coating all over the counter. Everyone should experience such pleasure in life once, now you can every day. Life is simple. The flip side is smooth for cutting other stuff. Strange generic design in the right color.
