JB Blunk's Earrings

Regular price $640.00 On Sale!

Earrings based on a unique piece of jewelry that JB Blunk made in 1975 for his wife, Christine Nielson. Crafted by Tess Young, the earrings feature two interlocking recycled 18K gold hoops and a perfectly spherical sliding bone bead. A nice little amount of weight on the ear. Blunk began making jewelry in 1954 at Palos Verdes College in Los Angeles where he taught ceramics. He continued to make one-off pieces throughout his life from his studio in Inverness, California.

JB had a daughter, her name is Mariah. She is a force of a woman filled with endless energy and humor. Top of the tops, it's incredible what she can do. I am constantly in awe. We walk, we talk, we eat, we laugh, we bitch about this and that, we wonder together about the world. She is loaded with sincerity, kindness, consideration and a drive to show her dad's work and many others at her gallery Blunk Space in Pt Reyes. Packaging designed by another pal and creative force, Kajsa Ståhl of Åbäke. These ladies do not mess around.
